The psychology behind loving to workout

Source
I read an article in Psychology Today about a psychological approach to get your self to love working out. The author calls it "The theory of the intrinsic exerciser." Basically, you need to shift your focus from distant and external goals such as losing weight to an "internal experience in the here and now." You have to start enjoying working out for its own sake, for the reward of exercise it self. You have to make exercise personally meaningful and set goals to challenge your self in the workout such as "lift 5 more pounds." Also, it talks about linking exercise to different parts of your life such as social (working out with friends) or spiritual aspects.

Me skiing in Colorado last year
Thats exactly what I feel like people do with skiing. Its a great exercise but thats not what most people think about. They challenge them selves to be able to go on more difficult mountains, its linked to a social aspect in their life because they do it with friends and family, and they ski for the sake of skiing! Now lets try to jog, run, do yoga, or go to the gym with the same intentions!

Let me know if this helps you! :)
